Job Description



Working hours: 10pm-6am.

Salary: £35,000 p/a

Direct reports:All Operators on shift in area of control

Main Purpose:

To provide technical support and training to all Moulding areas within the business

To execute the delivery plan and to ensure work orders are completed on time to required cost, quality and delivery targets

To manage the performance all of operatives under their span of control

Main Responsibilities

To actively promote a Health and Safety culture within the area and be responsible for ensuring that Health & Safety requirements and procedures are being complied with and that all staff are working in a safe and appropriate manner.When notified of safety issues must work with Operations Management as required to effect timely / appropriate solutions.

To provide technical support to Mould Shop

To provide training as required to Mould Shop staff

To attend breakdowns on mould machines and associated ancillary equipment and provide solutions

To set/assist in setting plastic mould tooling as required

To carry out tool and process changes as required

To ensure agreed delivery plan is executed to required cost and quality targets and any misses identified. Root cause to be identified and corrective actions put in place

To carry out any finite planning as may be required to meet the above

To ensure compliance with all rules, procedures and work processes

To develop team members and carry out performance management as necessary and to carry out regular performance reviews and appraisals

To carry out required personnel duties including discipline & grievance meetings, back to work interviews and counselling meetings

To assign operators to work centres based on the scheduled needs and the operator’s training experience

To instruct / give training to operators in the correct methods, procedures, safety, and quality criteria to perform at the assigned workcentre

To inform the Production /Operations Manager of any major product/ or major personnel problems

To be responsible for inventory control and stock accuracy

To inspect parts and assemblies for compliance with specifications. (includes self certification of product)

To record labour consumed and any variance to plan, along with any other relevant data collection

To inform the post holders Line Manager of any difficulties in actioning the above and agree resolution.

Any other duties which may reasonably be required by the post holders Line Manager or Director.
