Job Description

Currently we assist one of our clients while seeking for a Welding Operator/ MIG Welder in Royston area.

 

The job purpose is to carry out welding operations as required by Company’s customers both in situ and on customer sites.

 

 

Principle Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

 

  • To set up and carry out welding operations according to Company and customer requirements. - including to weld overlay/hardface various low alloy and specialized materials using semi-automatic and automatic equipment.
  • To ensure all health & safety requirements are adhered to including the wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE).  This applies to Company requirements as well as customer requirements.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained to the highest level within the workshop and whilst working on site to ensure a safe working environment.
  • To be part of the Integra welding team and assist in developing the overall team effectiveness.
  • To document welding operations according to in-house procedures so that Company and customer quality requirements are met.
  • To keep all equipment safe and secure and to use as instructed.
  • Put forward ideas for improvements/changes in working methods and equipment in order to assist in developing the overall team effectiveness.
  • Running automated welding machines in house and on customers sites.

    Qualifications/Experience:

     

  • Practical hands-on experience in welding or any engineering background is required
  • Qualification in welding or mechanical engineering – preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience with automatic welding equipment, would be beneficial but not essential as in house training will be given to the successful applicant
  • Forklift training would be beneficial but not essential.

     

    Other Requirements:

     

  • Must have a current valid UK driver’s license.
  • Willing and able to travel across the UK and overseas.
  • Shift-working if required
  • Willingness to help out in other areas of the business if and when required.

 

 

This is full time, permanent position.

Pay rate: £11 p/hr.
